Day 4 - July 8th - By Basia

This was our last morning in Myszkow (Basia's, Gosia's and Majka's home city). We spent a lovely morning eating our breakfast in the beautiful garden, as usual, and then quickly and crazily packed our things up into the bus and waved goodbye. We were on the road to Lubin, and after a few hours, we made it to a small "wies" or village and performed Biale Podlasie and Charleston. It was a small crowd of about 50 individuals but very happy and enthusiastic to see us.

Furthermore, as always, we were welcomed with great food and drink. As you may already know, one will never be disappointed with Polish hospitality, in general, it is always top notch with delicious food and a wonderful fun time. After leaving the small "wies" we quickly had to join our international parade with all the rest of the folkloric groups. This was where we were greatly surprised to the fact that every group was to present a snippet of our suite to the city hall, and unfortunately, we did not get the memo before. So, thankfully, as Lowiczanians, we have a gift of figuring things out last minute, and we were able to present the last piece of Charleston in 3 pairs. Not only was it last minute, but also presented on uneven cobblestone. Yikes! But everything went beautifully and were well received.

Immediately afterwards, we joined the parade and walked to the main stage and watched the rest of the groups perform for countless hours. We closed the show with our American piece, Charleston, because Pan Jurek, the director of the whole Kyczera festival, said that many people were waiting anxiously to see for the first time, the U.S. joining this particular festival. It was a wonderful ending to a very tiring and well fulfilled day. We finished with a great dinner and then made it to our first night in our hotel Majorka.
